Delete your account
Effective 29 July 2026
You can ask us to delete your Niota account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to do that, what is removed, and what is not.
How to request deletion
Email support@niota.infrom the email address your account uses, with the subject “Delete my Niota account”. You do not need to give a reason.
Sending the request from the account's own email address is how we verify that it is you. If you cannot send from that address, tell us and we will ask you for something else that establishes the account is yours. We will not act on a request we cannot verify, because acting on an unverified request would let someone else delete your account.
What happens, and when
We acknowledge your request when we receive it and complete the deletion within 30 days. Deletion is permanent. There is no undo, and we cannot restore an account once it has been removed. If you sign in again after deletion you get a new, empty account.
What we delete
- your sign-in identity, which removes your Firebase Authentication account and the email address attached to it,
- your broker sign-in records, which are the rows recording that a given user connected a given broker on a given day,
- your push notification token, so we can no longer send to your device.
What stays on your device, and how to remove it
Your watchlist, your in-app activity and history and your app preferences are stored on your phone, not on our servers, so deleting your account does not touch them and we cannot delete them for you. To remove them, uninstall the app or clear its storage from your Android settings. Uninstalling also removes the broker connection details held on the device.
What we keep, and why
- Aggregate counts. Totals such as how many people used the app on a given day are derived figures that no longer identify anyone. They are not reversible back to you and they are unaffected by deletion.
- Anything the law requires. Where a statute or a lawful order requires us to retain a record, we retain that record for as long as required and no longer.
- Backups. Deleted data can persist in encrypted system backups for a short period before those backups age out. It is not restored to the live service.
Deleting your broker connection without deleting your account
If you only want to disconnect a broker, you can remove that connection in the app from the broker setup screen, or revoke Niota's access from your broker's own developer or account settings. Your Niota account stays.
Your other rights
You can also ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. See the Privacy Policyfor the full list of rights under India's DPDP Act and how to exercise them.
